GALWAY TO LOSE 31 THOUSAND HOURS OF HOME HELP

31 thousand hours of home help services are to be lost in Galway this year due to cutbacks.

A further 6 home help staff are also set to retire.

In a further hit to the community 11 public health nurses are retiring.

Councillor Mary Hoade raised the issue at this afternoon’s meeting of the HSE West Regional Health Forum where she asked for strong contingency planning to protect the vulnerable in society.
