Galway tidy town ‘Adopt a Spot’ initiative launched
The chairperson of Galway city tidy towns says in the current economic climate more initiatives are needed to maintain clean areas.
A new project called ‘adopt a spot’ where groups keep a selected area litter free and help remove tags and posters on buildings will be launched in the coming weeks.
Today, Galway city’s west end traders were announced as the winners of the IBAL business award for their efforts in cleaning up the city.
The group focused on renewing closed-down shops and painting murals in the area.
Speaking on Galway Talks, Chairperson of Galway city tidy towns and councillor Neil McNeilis says people can get a lot done by working together.
