GALWAY TD WANTS PLANS FOR GLENASCAUL PLANT STOPPED

Plans to progress a sludge treatment plant in Glenascaul should be stopped until a public consulation takes place.

That’s the view of Galway west TD, Noel Grealish, who is lashing out at both the city and county councils for going ahead with the plant without speaking to locals.

It’s already been agreed by councillors that funding for the project will be sought from the Department of Environment.

Deputy Grealish says he wants all plans to progress the treatment plant stopped immediately until locals can have their say.
