GALWAY TD TO HIGHLIGHT WAITING TIMES AT UHG A&E

Galway West Labour TD Derek Nolan says he’ll be demanding answers from management at Galway’s University Hospitals after complaints about conditions at the Emergency Department there.

The Clinical Director of the hospitasl Dr David O’Keeffe and the Registrar of the UHG A&E will address capacity problems at the unit in a meeting today.

It comes after constituents made complaints to local TDs – including one from a patient who described lying on the floor of the A&E while doctors stepped over them.

Deputy Nolan, who sought the meeting, told Galway Bay FM News he also wants to discuss how a new Special Delivery Unit could help reduce waiting times for patients.
