GALWAY TD RAISES CONCERNS OVER DEATH REGISTRATION LAW

Irish citizens who die abroad could have their deaths registered here by the end of the year.

That’s according to Galway West TD Sean Kyne who has raised concerns in the Dáil at the delay in changing the law.

As it stands, the death of an Irish citizen abroad can only be recorded here in certain restricted circumstances.

A review of the law was commissioned last year after two young Galway men died in seperate accidents in the US in 2009.
