A Galway Senator has called for the abolition of parking charges in small towns.

Labour Senator Lorraine Higgins says getting rid of paid parking in smaller towns will help revitalise business in rural Galway.

According to new findings, the cost of collecting paid parking fees throughout the County is greater than what is being taken in.
