Galway Senator wants Hospitals Group CEO held accountable
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Chief Executive of the West / North-West Hospitals Group has questions to answer about the appointment of Noel Daly as Chairperson of the group.
That’s according to Galway Sinn Féin Senator, Trevor O’ Clochartaigh.
Noel Daly took on the voluntary role two years ago, but has resigned after allegations by Sinn Féin about a conflict of interest.
Mr. Daly is a shareholder in a private healthcare company which carried out a survey of maternity services for the hospitals group.
In a statement, Noel Daly says he took the decision to resign as chairperson because he does not want his personal and professional reputation or the reputation of the group compromised in any way.
Chief Executive of Hospitals Group, Bill Maher says it’s with deep regret that he heard of Noel Daly’s resignation.
Galway Sinn Féin Senator, Trevor O’ Clochartaigh told Galway Talks that CEO Bill Maher also has questions to answer about the appointment process for the Chairperson’s position.
