Galway second most car dependent city

Galway bay fm newsroom – Galway is the second most car dependent city in the country.

A survey released by the National Transport Authority shows 73 percent of people in Galway used their car in the last week, behind Cork at 85 percent.

Nationally, the car is still the dominant mode of transport with 7 in 10 people using their car for day to day journeys.

The figure is highest in rural areas, where public transport alternatives are limited
