Galway school leavers more likely to attend third level

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway is one of three counties to send the highest number of school-leavers to third level.
The figures released by the Higher Education Authority show that 60 percent of Galway school-leavers make the transition to college.
Other counties with a high proportion include Mayo and Leitrim.
The report published in today’s Irish Independent also shows that children of farm families are more likely to pursue third level.
The lowest rate concerned school-leavers from Donegal at 41 percent.
