Galway’s ghost hunters probe the paranormal
If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, who you gonna call?
Paranormal Supernatural Investigations, that’s who.
Two petrol station workers have combined their interest in all things spooky to set up a service which aims to delve further into claims about spiritual activity.
Armed with a full spectrum camcorder and several digital cameras, James Moore and Raja N. Khan go where nobody in their right minds would dare to.
So far, they have spent some long nights in Bohermore Cemetery, Menlo Cemetery and some houses located in Headford village, Maam Cross and beyond.
James insists that anyone who harbours doubts about whether the spirit world exists, should take a look at what he has documented.
“Most people don’t think it’s real but they’ll think twice about it once they see my footage. I have the proof,” he insists.
After carrying out “investigations” over the past eight months, he claims to have captured footage or stills of orbs – electro magnetic fields, which some insist is evidence of the spirits as they are said to emit electric energy. The “orb” is seen as a bluey-grey fuzz floating around.
“You can’t see it with the human eye but a camera picks it up. It coincides with a really cold, eerie feeling that you get,” explains James.
His first foray into the world of paranormal investigations began after a friend complained that his house in a Headford housing estate was haunted by a little girl.
His friend and several mates had witnessed the girl aged around six in several rooms of the house walking around giggling.
He stayed the night in the house armed with a digital camera but did not manage to see her. He did, however, get photos of orbs and witnessed a distinct drop in air temperature.
From his vantage point during the night shift at the Topaz Garage in Bohermore, he had noticed some weird shadows crossing by the front gate of Bohermore Cemetery.
He hooked up with Raja, who works in the Topaz Station adjacent to Monaghan’s Garage on the Tuam Road, and the pair spent several fruitful nights.
“So far we’ve seen two spirits. I’d say one was a male. He was in the church in the cemetery. He was looking out the window at us. Another time when I was filming a friend of mine was behind me taking footage. This cloud or mist flew over my shoulder. It was pretty amazing.”
