GALWAY RESEARCHERS REVEAL MIDGES CAPABLE OF TRANSMITTING ANIMAL VIRUS

Research carried out by NUI Galway reveals that midges here are capable of transmitting the animal virus known as “Blue Tongue”.

The study was commissioned by the Department of Agriculture and is part of the effort to keep the disease out of this country.
