GALWAY RESEARCH CONTRIBUTES TO INTERNATIONAL OSTEOARTHRITIS REPORT
Date Published: 02-Nov-2012
Findings from a team of researchers from NUI Galway will form part of an international report into treating osteoarthritis with gene and stem cell therapy.
The project entitled GAMBA was carried out in Galway as well as Germany and Switzerland.
The project differs from most others as target groups were held to hear the views of patients and lay people.
Researchers from the Regenerative Medicine Institute REMEDI at NUI Galway were responsible for the Irish findings.
The report from Galway, Germany and Switzerland will be presented to MEP Marian Harkin today at NUI Galway.
Dr. Mary Murphy from REMEDI says it was interesting to get the views of the public to help with their research.
