Galway reigns on Weather Network
Tourism Ireland in Canada is teaming up with The Weather Network, in a new collaboration to promote Galway and Ireland.
The partnership involves four new short videos, which airs on the Weather Network this month and will be seen by around ten million people across Canada. It will also include an episode of the channel’s podcast, This Day in Weather History, which was released on December 21.
The Weather Network is a hugely popular TV channel in Canada, and channel host Chris Mei and producer Nora Jartan have been filming in Galway – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland – capturing lots of great content in Galway city and at Katie’s Claddagh Cottage.
They also visited Galway Bay and enjoyed an overnight stay in the Park House Hotel, as well as dinner in McSwiggan’s.
The videos and podcast will also be promoted extensively on The Weather Network’s digital and social media platforms.
Sandra Moffatt, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, described the Weather Network’s podcast as another great platform to promote Ireland.
“Our aim is to showcase our rich culture and heritage, as well as spectacular landscapes, to potential Canadian holidaymakers for Ireland. Our message is that we cannot wait to roll out the green carpet and welcome back Canadian visitors in 2022,” she said.
