GALWAY PUBLIC TO PRODUCE 2030 ACTION PLAN FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Galway can lead the way in looking towards a more sustainable and viably economic city by 2030.

That’s the message from City Mayor Terry O’Flaherty who officiated at the launch of Galway Visioning Day which is taking place in Scoil Croi Iosa on the Newcastle road today (Apr 6).

The aim of the initiative is to produce an action plan for a more sustainable Galway by 2030 by gathering feedback and ideas from the public and local interest groups.

It’s hosted by Transition Galway with a view to helping local communities deal with challenges such as reduced oil supplies and climate disruption.

It continues until 4 this afternoon.

Speaking at the launch, Mayor Terry O’Flaherty says Galway has always had a focus on environmental issues and can now look towards the future.
