Galway bay fm newsroom – The country is bracing itself for another Atlantic storm today – with Met Éireann warning that an Orange flood warning is now in place.

Gardaí are advising motorists to drive with care as surface flooding is already being reported on many roads across the city and county.

Snow and ice is expected to add to the disruption in parts of Connacht, Longford, Westmeath and Meath.

More high winds and heavy rain is expected – with Cork City on alert ahead of high tide later today.

Meanwhile, a massive operation is underway to try to restore power to over 75-thousand customers who’ve been without supply for two nights.

Over 100 customers are still without power in the county including areas such as Loughrea and Curra.
