Galway Plaza provides timely boost as it opens for business
Eighty-five new jobs come on stream this week as the Galway Plaza opens for business at Junction 16, Kiltullagh on the M6 motorway.
The Motorway Services Station and Food Court, which officially opens tomorrow (Friday), will provide much needed services to M6 motorists as well as incorporating a Visitor Information Area, providing knowledge on the history and culture of East Galway for visitors.
It is hoped the Visitor Information Area will encourage tourists to explore the area and contribute to businesses and economy of East Galway.
A vast variety of food offerings are available for motorists in The Galway Plaza as well as a Texaco Fuel Station and a Spar Convenience Shop.
Owners of the site, Pat and Una McDonagh, focused from the outset on ensuring that the job creation benefit of the Plaza would be centred on the local area.
“Supermac’s is delighted to bring 85 jobs to the area. We are thrilled with how The Galway Plaza has turned out,” said Pat.
“We have had excellent local construction workers and suppliers helping to get the development prepared for business and now, as the doors get closer to opening, we have a dedicated team in place ready to greet and look after each customer as they arrive.
“As members of the Kiltullagh community we are proud to provide jobs in the area as well as essential services for motorists who travel along the M6,” continued Pat.
“We have created the Visitor Information area with the hope that it will contribute significantly to the East Galway economy. The area is rich in culture and steeped in history which deserves to be highlighted.
“History, culture, sport and visitor attractions of East Galway have dedicated individual sections located throughout the Plaza and we are proud of the quality of content which has been made available for tourists,” he added.
The McDonaghs confirmed that local businesses will be invited to advertise and promote their products and services in the Plaza.
“The development will ensure that Kiltullagh will become a landmark like Moneygall on the Irish motorway network and will benefit the entire community,” said Pat.
“We are proud of the excellent team we have brought together to serve our customers in The Galway Plaza,” added Una.
“The Galway Plaza will improve services for motorists and greatly enhance the visits of many to East Galway,” she concluded.
