GALWAY NURSING REPS STILL IN DARK OVER REPLACEMENT OF STAFF

Nursing representatives are still in the dark over the replacement of student nurses at Galway hospitals.

The issue of replacing the nurses was heard at the Labour Court last week, however NO recommendation has yet been issued.

The HSE is proposing the non-replacement of around 200 student nurses at hospitals across the west.

The INMO say this is contrary to a national agreement entered into by the HSE, and claim without replacing these students hospital beds and services will close.
