Galway native’s stable star comes up trumps again at his favourite Fairyhouse track

GALWAY native Pat Fahy and his course-loving Dunvegan landed the featured Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase in terrific style at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The nine-year-old grey –  a horse of which big things were expected of after landing two bumpers early in his racing career – is starting to finally repay connections’ faith in him.

Fahy, from Athenry, has always held Dunvegan in high regard and given the horse’s current rich vein of form is not ruling out a trip to the Cotswolds in March.

Always prominent alongside joint market leader Blackbow from the Willie Mullins yard, Dunvegan again jumped impeccably at his favourite track where he remains unbeaten – four wins from four runs.

Fahy’s charge got on top of a stirring duel over the final two fences under a resurgent Bryan Cooper. “When I saw him jumping the second last I started to enjoy it. We always thought a lot of him. He won two bumpers and beat a lot of winners in Punchestown, then he was so impressive when he won his maiden hurdle here.
