Galway moves up the ranks in national litter league

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway has moved up the ranks in the latest Irish Business Against Litter league.
It has been deemed clean to European norms and has moved up seven places in the league to stand in 21st position.
Inspectors commended many top ranking sites in Galway including Shop Street, Franciscan Abbey and the Town Hall Theatre.
The NUIG campus in Newcastle and Univerity Hospital Galway were also recognised.
However inspectors labeled the courthouse building and its environs as ‘seriously littered’.
The recycle facility at Joyce’s Shopping Centre was also labeled as a poor site.
Kilkenny and Waterford cities topped the ranks and are described as cleaner than European norms.
