GALWAY MOTORISTS WARNED OF CROSS WINDS AND FLOODING

Extreme weather conditions are making driving particularly treacherous in parts of Galway today.

People are warned to be extra careful when out and about.

There is alot of flooding in spots around the county particularly in the vicinities of tuam and ballinasloe and the ahascaragh / mountbellow area.

There is also a heavy flood near the railway bridge on the road between Ardrahan and Craughwell and motorists are advised to take an alternative route if possible.

Motorists are also advised to be wary of cross-winds on exposed roads
