Galway was the most expensive city in Ireland for hotel rooms last year, with a 4 per cent price hike

Visitors to Galway last year paid an average of 137 euro for a night in the city, according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index.

Cork was the second most expensive city in Ireland with prices of up to 125 euro per night.

The report showed that Dublin prices remained fairly stable, with price rises of just 1% making the average cost of a night in the capital 116 euro.
