Galway men urged to declare zero tolerance against domestic violence
Galway bay fm newsroom – A new campaign is urging men across Galway to declare zero tolerance on violence against women.
The ‘Man-UP’ campaign is asking men from across the city and county to log onto the www.manup.ie website to show their support.
It comes as new figures reveal that just over half of men and 79 percent of women perceive domestic violence as being common.
It also finds that women are more conscious than men of a range of physical and emotional consequences.
The study was led by COPE Galway Waterside House and Domestic Violence Response Oughterard.
Wendy Heuston, Manager of COPE Galway Waterside House says men can be part of the solution by supporting this campaign
