GALWAY MAYOR SEEKS REVERSAL OF DAVID NORRIS DECISION

The Mayor of Galway says she will do everything in her power to allow Senator David Norris speak before the city council in September.

Hildegarde Naughton labelled last night’s vote to refuse him permission to do so as a ‘misunderstanding’ on her part.

A proposal to allow the Senator speak, in an effort to secure a nomination to run for President, was put to city councillors last night.

7 voted against, 7 voted in favour.

Fine Gael Mayor Hildegarde Naughton cast her deciding vote against the proposal to allow Senator Norris speak to the chamber.
