Galway management company announces outstanding results
A Galway-based management, technical and training firm has played its part in a spectacular success that has seen dozens of SMEs increase innovation, capability and capacity over the past three years.
Team BDS has led the Innovation for Competitive Enterprises (ICE) Programme over that period, and has now revealed outstanding results with participating companies on track to see an increased turnover by over €56m.
Furthermore, this growth is expected to lead to the creation of 300 new jobs and pave the way for 40 companies to move into export sales across Europe by the time the programme ends in 2014.
The innovation initiative which was run by leading Educational Institutions in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland helps to introduce management teams, implement ideas and support improvements in performance management, international strategy and change implementation.
Speaking at the Innovation for Competitive Enterprises (ICE) Programme’s 2013 Dublin Conference entitled Improving Company Performance Through Innovation, Malachy Mooney of Team BDS said, “Our approach is based on five core components, strategy/vision, people, processes, systems and metrics.
“SMEs are the backbone of our regional economies and it is through enabling enterprises to successfully implement change, improved market position and increase innovation that we will restore our Countries economy and competitively drive industry.”
The Innovation for Competitive Enterprises (ICE) Programme is funded by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund through the INTERREG IVA Cross-Border Programme for Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and Western Scotland.
The fund is administered by the Special EU Programmes Body with a €2.5m investment, and matched funding from Scottish Enterprise, Enterprise Ireland and Invest NI.
