Galway man nips out for his chips
A 21 year old Portumna man stripped naked in a Kebab shop before jumping the counter and flinging burger boxes around the premises.
Charges against Graham Fogarty of 17 Cois na hAbhainn, Portumna, have been adjourned for the preparation of a probation report, after he pleaded guilty to public order offences on January 25 at Main Street, and damaging a car belonging to Patrick Mahony at King Street.
Inspector Declan Rock told the court how €971 damage had been caused to a taxi after a beer keg was thrown at it, while the incident in the Fresh and Go takeaway premises involved the accused stripping down to his socks before jumping over the counter on three occasions, throwing burger boxes around the place and taking a hat from one member of staff. He had a previous conviction or theft.
Defending solicitor, Sheenagh McCarthy, said she was worried about her client who suffered from depression and anxiety. He also experienced black-outs and on one occasion had been found in a back garden playing with a Rottweiler.
