GALWAY LECTURER FINED FOR HARASSING NEIGHBOUR

A college lecturer made his next-door neighbour’s life a misery for nearly ten years and ruined her business by continually harassing her, Galway District Court heard this week

52 year old Robert Loughnane of 9 Woodhaven, Merlin Park pleaded guilty to harassing Julie Manton between August 2006 and March 2007 at Woodhaven

Judge Fahy said she would adjourn the case if Loughnane agreed to pay €7,500 in compensation to Ms. Manton for loss of earnings.

She said that if he did not pay the compensation she would record a criminal conviction against him.

Judge Fahy then adjourned the matter to February 13 next for payment of €7,500 to Ms. Manton.
