A Galway District Court judge has slammed students who ignore adult cautions and continue to offend as “intolerable”.

Judge Mary Fahy said yesterday that the Adult Caution Scheme was introduced to save people from getting a criminal conviction.

However she says, people – particularly students – do not avail of the chance they’re given to avoid a criminal conviction and continue to offend.

The judge made her comments while dealing with 28 year old-mature student, Mark Byrne, from County Roscommon with an address at Lios an Uisce, Renmore.
