GALWAY IS THIRD IN SCRAPPAGE SCHEME FOR THE COUNTRY

Galway has the third highest percentage of people applying for cars under the scrappage scheme in the country.

Over 5 and a half percent of the overall national figure is in Galway with 279 cars registered under the scrappage scheme.

Galway follows behind Dublin with 23 percent and Cork with 16 percent.

Ford is the most brand scrapped under the scheme.
