GALWAY IMMIGRATION OFFICERS CLAMP DOWN ON FOREIGN STUDENTS

Garda Immigration officers in Galway have begun a clampdown on foreign students who come here to attend language schools and then move address without registering their new details with the local
immigration office.

The first such prosecution was brought against a South Korean student at Galway District Court this week with more prosecutions in the pipeline.

Before the court was Jihwan Lee, with a former address at 84 Ros Ard, Cappagh Road, Barna, and who now lives at 48 Lios Altan, Lower Salthill.
