Galway football champions swing into All-Ireland semi-final action

IN the space of little more than 24 hours, the fate of three Galway football teams in the All-Ireland Club championship will be decided.

First of the Galway champions into action are the Clifden juniors who face Stewartstown Harps of Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final at Hyde Park on Saturday (1pm).

Just a half hour later, Dunmore MacHales will start their bid to reach the All-Ireland final when squaring up to another Tyrone team, Galbally, in the intermediate semi-final in Mullingar (1:30pm).

The big interest, however, will centre on Maigh Cuilinn’s clash with Glen of Derry (2pm) in the first of the All-Ireland senior semi-finals at Croke Park on Sunday.

All three Galway teams are outsiders to advance as Clifden are priced as 5/4, Dunmore MacHales are 2/1 shots, while Maigh Cuilinn can be backed at 7/4.
