GALWAY FIRE SERVICE REPORTS BUSY HALLOWEEN NIGHT

Galway Fire Service were kept busy last night, extinguishing fires around the city, which were part of Hallowe’en celebrations
The fire Brigade received approximately 20 calls last night and attended about 15 fires, a slight increase on last years calls
In some cases, fire crews were pelted with stones by onlookers when trying to put out fires in the Westside of the city
At a fire in Béal Carraig, Gardaí accompanied the fire brigade when they tried to extinguish a fire and baton charged the crowd who threw missiles at the Fire crew
Fires were also put out at Fána Glas and Castlegar, but a spokesperson for Galway Fire Service said no injuries were reported last night
