GALWAY FG SENATOR BREAKS RANKS ON IRISH LANGUAGE POLICY

Galway West Fine Gael election candidate Senator Fidelma Healy Eames has broken ranks with the party on its Irish language policy.

Senator Healy Eames has told the first-ever election hustings held by arts workers in Galway, that she has put pressure on Enda Kenny not to go ahead with his proposal to remove the compulsory status of Leaving Cert Irish until a review has been carried out.
