GALWAY FAST FOOD FIRM AIMS FOR AUSTRALIAN MARKET

THE boss of Galway-based fast food chain Supermacs, Pat McDonagh, says the firm plans to expand its restaurant chain into the Australian market.

The Galway businessman says that as there are more Irish people than ever applying for Australian visas his company plans to open its first outlet in the land ‘down under’ later this year.

In an interview with "The Sunday Business Post" Pat McDonagh states that as there is such a big Irish community abroad now it should be viable to have Supermacs outlets in Australia.

According to the report Pat McDonagh’s company have received many requests from Irish people home on holidays for Supermacs outlets to be established in Australia.

The Galway fast-food firm’s chief says that it is simply a case of following the Irish community abroad.

Pat McDonagh also says he intends to open at least four new Irish outlets in 2013.

The Galway firm already has 100 outlets in ireland, both company-owned and franchised.
