GALWAY FARMERS TO RALLY AGAINST BUDGET CUTS

5 thousand Galway farmers could see a reduction of 1 thousand euro in their area-based payments as a result of Budget 09.

That’s according to the Irish Farmers Association, which is holding a rally in Mayo tonight for all farmers in Connaught.

The IFA says a further 4 and a half thousand farmers in Galway will also be affected by a 50 percent reduction in the suckler cow scheme.
