Galway farmers to petition EU parliament on single farm payment
Galway bay fm newsroom- Representatives of the South Galway farming community will petition the EU parliament tomorrow to examine the distribution of the Single farm payment.
Two farmers will join North West MEP Jim Higgins in presenting to the petitions committee at the parliament in Brussels.
It’s after farmers in the commonage area of Keelderry on the slopes of Slieve Aughty had their Single Farm payment cut or withdrawn.
It also follows an unsuccessful protest at the Department of Agriculture.
