GALWAY FARMERS IN PROTEST OVER BUDGET CUTS

Farmers from across county Galway took part in a major protest in Leitrim this afternoon over cuts in the budget which they say unfairly targets them.

Up to seven thousand farmers turned up for the protest in Carrick-on-Shannon.

The protest was organised by the Irish Farmers Association to highlight its concerns for low paid farmers in the West and North-West of the country.
