Galway farmers considering break with IFA

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A number of Galway farmers are considering breaking away from the Irish Farmers Association and forming a new representative body, according to a Galway County Councillor.
Loughrea area Councillor Anne Rabbitte says that farmers across the county are frustrated that the west is being sidelined and ignored by the IFA.
She says that the main obstacle to setting up a new body to represent small to average-sized farms in the west is the lack of insurance options.
Councillor Rabbitte says that if the IFA doesn’t listen to its members, the organisation faces losing them.
