Galway families warned against money lenders for back-to-school costs
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Families struggling financially across Galway are being urged not to use high interest money lenders in a bid to cover back-to-school costs.
Saint Vincent De Paul says many parents seek assistance from lenders with exorbitant interest rates and can end up paying back double the loan value.
It comes as families prepare for the return to school at the end of this month with mounting uniform and school book costs.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Saint Vincent De Paul Galway Area President Michael McCann says it is there to support families who are strugging to cope.
