Galway falls to 33rd place in Irish litter league
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway city has fallen to 33rd place in the latest Irish Business Against Litter League.
The city has been graded as ‘moderarely littered’ while Dublin and Cork cities received ‘clean to European norms’ for the first time.
The IBAL survey by An Taisce studied 42 towns and cities nationwide and showed three-quarters to be clean or cleaners than European norms.
Cavan topped the league as the country’s cleanest town while Monaghan, Ennis and Mullingar came bottom of the list and were branded ‘littered’ by the inspectors.
Chairman of IBAL, Dr. Tom Cavanagh says it’s a disappointing result for Galway city.
