The counting of votes in the Galway East constituency will commence at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The first boxes to be opened will be those from Ballinasloe Electoral Area followed by the boxes from the Loughrea Electoral Area and finally the boxes from the Tuam Electoral Area.

A total of 72 tallymen will be operating at the count centre in New Inn once counting staff commence the opening of the boxes and it is expected that a tally will be completed by around midday or shortly after. This will give an indication of where the four seats will go.
