GALWAY DOLE FRAUDSTER ESCAPES PRISON SENTENCE

A city resident who claimed €4,000 in job seeker’s allowance payments while working as a welder has been fined €1400 for the offence

34 year old Issa Adekola of 30 Castan, Merlin Park appeared before Galway District Court.

He pleaded guilty to failing to notify the social welfare department that he had started a job on January 18, 2007 while continuing to claim job seeker’s allowance, and to making a false statement to claim the allowance while still working on March 27, 2007.
