GALWAY DELEGATION TO MEET HEALTH MINISTER

A top Galway surgeon will lead a delegation to Leinster House next week to outline the serious impact a shortage of theatre nurses is having on patient care.

Orthopaedic surgeon Michael O’ Sullivan will be joined by other health professionals to speak with the health minister, James Reilly next Wednesday.

It’s claimed the lack of theatre nurses at Galway university hospitals is causing a serious backup of inpatient, outpatient and emergency patient cases.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames says this meeting will help resolve the crisis.
