GALWAY CYCLISTS URGED TO KEEP OFF FOOTPATHS
Date Published: 30-Aug-2007
Unsafe road designs, speeding cars and poor traffic management is pushing more and more Galway cyclists onto footpaths in the city.
That’s according to the Galway cycling campaign which was responding to complaints from the public about cyclists on the prom and other pedestrian walkways.
They say many cyclists don’t feel safe on the roads, or end up sharing pedestrian areas because of poor road design and a chronic lack of road safety infrastructure in Galway city.
