GALWAY COUNCILS GET 2.2 MILLION TOP UP FUND FOR WATER COSTS

The local authorities in Galway have been given over 2.2 million euro top up funding for their water and sewerage costs.

Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government John Gormley made the announcement today as part of a 20.5 million euro nationwide funding boost.

Galway County council will receive 1.7 million euro, while the City Council will receive 488 thousand euro.

The funding is to help both councils with running costs on their water and sewerage treatment plants.
