GALWAY CONGOLESE COMMUNITY MARCHES ON CITY HALL

The Galway Congolese Association has staged a peaceful protest in the city to highlight human rights abuses in the Congo.

Up to 50 Congolese nationals living in Galway marched from the city centre to City Hall over lunch to hand in a letter to the Mayor of Galway Michael Crowe.

Today the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrates 50 years of independence, but the country has been beseiged by chaos, endless war and bad governance.
