Hundreds of old computers will be collected from Galway schools, businesses and universities today as part of an education recycling initiative.

Camara education limited, which has its headquarters in Dublin, recently launched a base in Galway city.

For a small fee, the charity collects unused and unwanted computers, refurbishes them and sends them to schools in Ireland and Africa where they are reused.

Camara will have a drop off point for old computers on the first Wednesday of every month at its base on the Newcastle road in the city.
