GALWAY COMPANY TO GET 1 MILLION EURO COUNCIL REFUND

A Galway construction company has won a High Court case to be refunded more than a million euro from the County Council.

O’ Malley Construction Limited is entitled to a refund of 1.1 million euro plus interest which was paid towards the building of a bypass in Barna that was never completed.

According to The Irish Times, 1.1 million euro was paid by O’ Malley Construction as part of a condition of planning permission secured several years ago.

It related to the development of a 2.7 kilometre bypass of Barna village, of which only 460 metres was completed.
