Galway city rental prices rise by almost 6 percent
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Rents in Galway city are still rising, according to the latest report from property website, daft.ie
In the first quarter of this year, the average rent in the city was 828 euro, a rise of almost 6 percent from the same period last year.
While rents in the city rose by almost 6 percent in the past year, in the county, rents remained mostly stable, rising less than 1 percent in the 12 months to March 2014.
The average rent for properties in the county is no 548 euro.
The average price to rent a single room in the city is now 301 euro an increase of 2 percent since last year, while a single room in the city suburbs costs 258 euro on average.
Nationally, the average rent nationwide is 9 percent higher than it was at the same time last year.
The biggest annual rise was in Dublin city centre, where rents have risen by 14 percent in the past year.
