GALWAY CITY HOUSE PRICES CRASH

GALWAY has suffered the second biggest drop in Ireland in house prices according to the latest survey due to be published in tomorrow’s "Sunday Times".

While the county area fared badly with house prices falling by 16 per cent in the past year and a predicted further 10 per cent drop next year the city fared much worse.

House price in part of Galway city fell by 20 per cent with a further drop of 10 per cent prediced for 2012.

Some second-hand houses in the city dropped by a whopping 27 per cent last year and Mark Keenan, Property Editor with "The Sunday Times" says Galway city prices have dropped more than most areas in Ireland.
