Galway City councillors mark International Women’s Day

Galway City’s five female councillors have invited the public to help them celebrate International Women’s Day on Wednesday with a coffee and networking morning.

Mayor of Galway, Clodagh Higgins and Councillors Terry O’ Flaherty, Colette Connolly, Martina O’Connor and Imelda Byrne decided to come together to mark International Women’s Day by embracing equality and inclusivity over a cup of coffee with members of the community in Galway.

The event will be held this Wednesday (March 8) from 10am to noon in the Hardiman Hotel, Eyre Square, who are sponsoring the event.

There is an option of donating and any funds raised on the day will be given to COPE Galway.

The group of councillors said they recognise the difference COPE makes to the community by way of supporting families and individuals and they are collectively delighted to be in a position to raise much needed funding.
